System Maintenance

The RObust 4000 direct flow reverse osmosis filter is designed for cold water purification only.

Pressure monitoring
The front panel features two pressure gauges:
Inlet pressure gauge – shows pressure after pre-filters.
Pump pressure gauge – shows pressure after the membrane block.

1 This value only applies to the RObust 1500, RObust 3000MAX, and RObust 4000 models.

Pre-filtration cartridges

Replace pre-filters after 10,000 litres of water filtration or at least every 3 months.
If the pressure after the pre-filters drops below 1 bar, the cartridges may be clogged.
Delaying replacement may damage or reduce the lifespan of the membrane.

Reverse osmosis membrane

With a significant drop in system performance, replacement of reverse osmosis membranes is required. Replace after filtering 60,000 litres or at least once per year if filtration speed decreases.

Downtime maintenance

If unused for over 2 weeks, disinfect before resuming use (procedure in the user manual).

FAQ

What TDS is required for the inlet water?

The required TDS level of the inlet water depends on the filter model.

All our RObust reverse osmosis filters require a TDS level of 1,000 ppm or less except for RObust Coffee. For this one the required TDS is 150-500 ppm.
What recovery rates does the RObust 4000 have?

The RObust 4000 has an impressive recovery rate of 55–60%, making it one of the most efficient models in our lineup.

It’s built to support continuous operation for up to 20 hours per day and is ideal for restaurant environments where space is limited but performance matters. Thanks to its high recovery rate, this filter minimizes water waste while ensuring a consistent supply of purified water — up to 180 L/h.
Will water treatment improve food & beverage taste?

Yes — and that’s exactly why so many restaurants choose the RObust 4000.

By removing chlorine, minerals, and other taste-distorting substances from tap water, this system helps your food and drinks taste as they should — clean, consistent, and full of flavour.
What water treatment system is best for my kitchen equipment?

While all of our water treatment systems purify water for use in your kitchen equipment reliably, the perfect choice depends on a number of factors like the following:

How many appliances will use the purified water?
How high is the daily consumption of the purified water?
How big or small is the space available for a water filtration system in your restaurant?
What quality does the inlet water have in your restaurant?

Do you have any RO filters specifically designed for restaurants?

Yes, several of our reverse osmosis systems are well-suited for restaurants, cafés, and other HoReCa businesses. They are designed to deliver high water quality for kitchen equipment, cooking, dishwashing, and beverages — all while offering stable performance and easy operation.

RObust 4000 was specifically developed with restaurant use in mind. It features an ultra-compact, direct flow design, can operate continuously for up to 20 hours per day, and delivers up to 3 liters of purified water per minute. With a high recovery rate of 60–65%, it also helps reduce water waste.
This model is ideal for high-demand kitchens and ensures reliable protection of dishwashers, ovens, steamers, and more.
Do I need to use a tank with your water purification systems in my restaurant?

While it’s not strictly necessary to use a tank when using our commercial water filtration system in your restaurant, we do recommend it for certain use cases: For example, using a tank for the water used by your coffee machine helps to average TDS levels in the water, which results in consistent coffee flavour. We recommend installing a tank in all cases where our reverse osmosis filters are connected to additional devices.
